The document below is the first chapter in an Open Education Resource (OER) Text book created collaboratively. Each group in the course completed a chapter detailing Open Networked Learning Environments (ONLE) and Personal Learning Environments (PLE), connectivist and constructivist approaches to online education. I have written many different types of documents throughout the years. However, this is the first time I was challenged to create a text to provide educators a learning resource. It is also the most extensive collaborative writing project I have completed.

This particular project challenged us to infuse technology rich information and activities into a textbook. We encouraged the use of online tools to discuss and explore the concepts of PLE and ONLE. Our goal as a group was to provide the information needed to grasp the concepts and theories that form the foundation of the PLE and ONLE practices and methods. We knew we needed to provide the information necessary to allow readers to engage in a meaningful way with the rest of the book.
