ETC645 - Distributed Learning Delivery Systems

Assessing Environmental Impact

  • Select and upload or link to  any of your ETC645 assignment that demonstrates your ability to design, implement, and evaluate technology-rich professional learning programs (NETS*ATD, 3.a.).
Assessing Environmental Impact
I created this portion of my group's professional development unit during assignment four.  I chose it to represent the above standard because it reflects a use of multiple online technologies.  It is easy to default to a standard threaded discussion board.  However, with the small group nature of the activity, I thought it would be better to encourage the use of synchronous online video conferences for lively discussions.  If I were to deliver this unit in the right context, I might choose to remove the threaded discussion board as an option.  However, I think it is important to have that alternative in many cases.

This activity also includes the use of VoiceThread.  In ETC 645 we learned the theory of Online Collaborative Learning.  Parts of this theory postulate that online learning happens through various types of learner interaction.  VoiceThread provides an alternate and additional way for learners to interact with content and each other.  It also adds to the depth of technology integration available in the activity.

Management Plan

Management Plan
The Management Plan activity acts as the culminating project in the Technology Resource Management Module of my group's professional development unit.  I had to explore new ways to create evaluation measurements via Web 2.0 tools.  I chose to create a survey via SurveyMonkey.com based on the contents and measurement contained within the rubric that evaluates the final project.  My intention was to embed the survey evaluation into the website.  However, Google sites and Survey Monkey are incompatible.  This resulted in having to use a link instead.  My group also used Google tools to create embedded assessment in other portions of the PDU.  This lesson also challenged learners to explore the use of online survey and polling technology.
